I imported some new clips to an existing library and it seems that one of the clips is not creating the filmstrips correctly. It keeps going and going after the rest are done and in the filmstrips folder there is only one single image for that clip, unlike the other folders that have many image files.

I deleted the clip entirely and the associated filmstrip folder.

I also deleted the thumbnail file but I noticed that another file had some issues so I deleted those files as well.

Now it seems that Flamingo still sees the clip, the thumbnail is just a gray box for those clips.

Are there any plans to create a database rebuilder that will recreate thumbnails and/or filmstrips. It seems the filmstrips are the most problematic, first, for the amount of time it takes to generate, and then the fact that deleting and recreating is less than intuitive.

Thoughts?

FlamingoHD

Hi Rich,

could you please send us that clip that is hanging up the filmstrip creation process.

When you deleted the clip, was that via the FlaminogoHD application, or from the Library file system area?

We are processing a number of minor bugs for FlamingoHD now, so we will have many more database integrity checks in there soon.

At the moment, we don't have any plans to create a database re-builder, as its a bit of a cop out on our side to produce something that deals with errors, rather than deal with the cause of the errors.

thanks

Justin
