Hi there,

If I convert an AVCHD .mts file from a Panasonic SD300 to AIC, everything works fine. (Frame rate: 25fps interlaced = i50)

If I then use Convert(custom) in order to create a Quicktime movie containing HDV 1080i50,
then VoltaicHD only converts the first frame of the movie. The rest of the movie consists of only this first frame.
Sound converts fine.

Here are the settings for Convert(custom):

Quicktime Movie
Options:
Compressor: HDV 1080i50,
1440 x 1080 px (Compressor specific)
Sound: uncompressed 48kHz 16bit stereo

in the HDV compression options, I tried
- actual fps and 25 fps
- frame reordering ticked /not ticked

... doesn't make any difference, always the same error.

Just in case somebody wonders why I would want to convert to HDV and not e.g. AIC:
I have a series of multi-camera shoots (many many hours), all recorded with 2 HDV cameras and one AVCHD camera (Panasonic SD300)
In Final Cut Pro, the source clips for multi-angle edits all need to be in the same format.
And due to disk space and time issues, I can't afford to convert everything into AIC.
The current workflow is to import the AVCHD clips into FCP, which turns them into ProRes or AIC clips. I can then convert these clips into HDV with compressor or mpegstreamclip.

I am hoping that VoltaicHD can turn this two-step conversion process into a one-step workflow.

Currently I am using the demo mode of VoltaicHD. Surely this can't be the source of the problem?

Thank you very much for your help.

Conversion to HDV

Hi Thomas,

this feature should be functional in the demo - the demo only restricts the output duration, not the formats available.

We'll test it out and get back to you.

HDV output not working

I've checked this in the latest build and there does seem to be a problem with HDV output. We'll look into it further.

ProRes is working fine, as are other pro codecs.

thank you

Thank you very much for looking into this!
This could really be a life-saver for me.
